Alistair is the Senior Pastor at Bethany Christian Centre.
He was born and brought up in Ayrshire, Scotland. He was blessed with Christian parents, grandparents and a supportive and caring home. He came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a young boy and was baptised in his early teens. When he left school he spent a year as an assistant professional golfer before spending two years in the retail business, selling cars.  In his late teens he spent a year of discipleship training at the GLO Centre (Gospel Literature Outreach) in Motherwell, Scotland. In his twenties he went on to study theology at the Bible Training Institute (now The International Christian College) in Glasgow. It was during his time at BTI that he met his wife Sharon and they were married in June 1990. Alistair and Sharon have served God together for seventeen years in three churches; four years at Brigadier Free Church in Enfield North London, ten years at Sawyers Church Brentwood Essex and for the last three years at Bethany. Alistair and Sharon have three boys, Ryan, Kieran and Aidan. Alistair’s desire for Bethany is to see people grow in their passion and pursuit of the Lord Jesus Christ in their personal daily lives which overflows in passion for God’s people and God’s world. Alistair’s favourite scripture verse about the church is Acts 2:42-47, this describes the kind of church he wants to belong to.

David Childs is Pastor for Small Groups and Discipleship.
David is married to Diane and they have 2 boys, Joel and Matthew, 2 dogs and a cat. Having met while studying at Capernwray Hall, England, they then moved to Northern Ireland (Diane’s home country) where he worked with Evangelical Ministries (formerly EYM). Returning to England after 5 years to take up further studies, he then pastored churches in the South before joining the team here in 2007.  Originally from Essex, David’s primary responsibilities at Bethany are for Discipleship and Small Group ministries which opens many ‘doors’ allowing him to exercise his passion in teaching the bible to anyone who will listen!

Gordon Weir is Pastor for Youth and Families
He joined us at Bethany in 2007 after eight years in Fife in his native Scotland. He is married to Alli and they have three children, Laura, Sam & Jude. Gordon is passionate about helping people find the fullest expression for a fulfilling life, believing that to be found in response to God's love. Gordon is a football fan and supports his home-town team, Queen of the South (the only team in the Bible!).
He is also a golf nut and wishes they hadn't stopped making The West Wing.
His favourite song lyric is 'I can't change the world but I can change the world in me' ('Rejoice - U2) and his often quoted favourite verse is John 3:30 'I must decrease that he may increase.'
